2015 Dry Riesling
While most people associate Riesling with sweetness, this great German grape can shine equally as a dry wine. The style we produce at Point Lookout Vineyards displays the full aromatic character of the Riesling grape, in a clean, unadorned, and completely dry bottling. Bright, refreshing citrus peel and green apple tones fade into a crisp, mineral edge and charming acidity. Perfect for picnics, light seafood dishes, or fresh salads.

2016 Riesling
Here at Point Lookout Vineyards, we let our riesling bask on sunny, hillside slopes, developing ripe flavors without losing that freshness that lets riesling shine like the sun it’s grown in. Our 2015 Riesling is off-dry, in the style of a German Kabinett, balancing the refreshing acidity with a touch of fruity sweetness to display the bright aromas of ripe citrus and stone fruits, supported by floral notes and a shining minerality. A wonderful pairing for spicier food, sushi, or fresh seafood dishes, or a glass on its own on a warm summer afternoon.

2015 Chardonnay
Our 2015 Chardonnay is stainless-steel fermented, bringing out the bright, charming apple, pear, and citrus fruit that comes from the warmth of the North Carolina sunshine. Pure and driven, this Chardonnay is a wonderful pairing for fresh fish and shellfish, light cheeses, and chicken dishes.

2016 Chardonnay – Barrel Fermented
The trick to the combination of chardonnay and oak is finding the balance that lets the pure flavors of grape shine through, enriched by the smooth, creamy flavors of proper barrel-fermenting and aging. Point Lookout Vineyard’s Barrel-Fermented Chardonnay finds that balance, and delivers a wine with a clear purpose and harmonious flavors. Golden apple, ripe pear, and lemon curd find their place among notes of vanilla bean, and baking spices like nutmeg and allspice. Delicious with roast chicken, creamy risotto, fish with cream sauces, and a cheese plate.

2016 Sabrina – Rose
Rosé wines have rightfully earned their place as a distinct category all to their own. Point Lookout Vineyard’s ‘Sabrina’ Rosé shows off everything there is to love about this charming style of wine. Our rosé displays the unique characteristics of Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), blended with Cabernet Franc, and is a lively mix of old and new world rosé traditions. It is a wine with intention. Sabrina bursts forth with berry aromas, with a mild peppery lift, a hint of summery sweetness and a smooth, bright finish. Wonderful chilled, on its own on sunny afternoons, with a fruity salad, grilled salmon, or as part of a lunch spread.

2015 Merlot
Merlot serves as a softer, friendlier red wine, and we intend ours to be that delicious red everyone can enjoy. Our Merlot drinks readily, showing all of the plush fruit and nuanced aromas characteristic of the varietal, while remaining a great match for food. Look for flavors of red cherries, raspberries, with a background of mocha, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Delicious with pork dishes, welcome with a cookout, and plenty enjoyable on its own!

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the great grapes of the Bordeaux region of France, and the most popular red in the world. We here at Point Lookout take the opportunity to show off the unique setting of our vineyard through the lens of this historic grape. Our Cabernet Sauvignon, growing hillside in the warm North Carolina sun, shows off a fruit-forward wine with all the depth of a good Cabernet. Aromas of ripe cherries and plums play into a silky, dry palate with a backbone of dark chocolate, cassis, and vanilla. This wine is a lovely pairing for hearty dinners, such as steak and duck, or for drinking, either on its own with a good piece of quality dark chocolate.

2016 Cliffield
Red Blends are meant to show the best of each grape in the mix complimenting each other; every piece creating something even better than the sum of its parts. Point Lookout Vineyards ‘Cliffield,’ named for the family-farm owned mountain you can see from our stunning vineyards, does just this. We combine Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon into a smooth, complex red wine that drinks as well with dinner as it does by itself with good company. Healthy fruit, dark cherries and plums, meld into a finish of dark chocolate, coffee, and soft tannins. A perfect match for roasted or grilled meats and vegetables, creamy cheeses, or all on its own.

2016 Pavilion
A serious blend for the red wine lover in all our heart’s, the Pavilion Barrel-Select Red Wine takes some of our best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and strengthens them with portions of our premium Petit Verdot. This is a wine with drive, depth, and purpose. Aromas of redcurrants, blackberry jam, white pepper, and vanilla cream give way to a fruit forward palate of strawberries and plums with whispers of cocoa powder and pepper. Grippy tannins give the wine structure, but a floral finish and burst of acidity give the wine balance and life. Enjoy with roasted meats, grilled steak, and hard cheeses.

2015 Petit Verdot
This minor blending grape from Bordeaux has become a major part of our story. Petit Verdot, named for its supposed difficulty ripening in its French homeland, shines like the sun in our vineyards. We have no problems ripening this grape, and it makes outstanding wine. It is a wonderful expression of the quality of wines we are capable of, and Point Lookout Vineyards Petit Verdot is the premium wine of our portfolio. This wine is serious, but still made in our approachable, fruit-forward style, showing dark fruit notes, a lightly floral background, velvet tannin, and a rich palate. Best enjoyed with deep, savory dishes, like braised or smoked meats, or hard cheeses.

2016 Javine
Red wine and chocolate have long been an esteemed pairing, but given owner Michael Jackson’s history in coffee, this curiously delectable flavored red wine seemed more appropriate. The combination plays harmoniously, a nose of creamy coffee and chocolate readies the palate for a well-integrated blend of bright red fruit notes playing off of the roasted richness of coffee. Perfect on its own by a warm fire for a digestif, mixed into a mug of hot-coco for extra warmth, an adventurous pairing with coffee-rubbed steaks on the grill, and a comfortable companion to a good piece of eating chocolate.
